Sports Club 1st Open Ahmedabad Ranking Table Tennis Tournament 2017

Final Day Results:

Dhairya, Chitrax, Yashwi and Kausha all claim Two titles each on the concluding day of the Sports Club 1st Open Ahmedabad Ranking Table Tennis Tournament 2017 held at Sports Club from 2 to 4 June, 2017 organized by Table Tennis Association of Ahmedabad. Dhairya winning in Juniors and Youth Boys, Chitrax dominating in Sub Junior Boys and Mens, Yashwi winning in Junior and Youth Girls and Kausha claiming titles in Sub Junior Girls and Womens. It was a very rare occasion when the Top Seeds of a particular event except the four viz. Cadet Boys & Girls, Sub Junior Girls and Womens crashing out in the earlier rounds or in the finals.

The 2nd Open Ahmedabad Ranking Table Tennis Tournament of the season is scheduled from 7 to 9 July, 2017, venue will soon be decided.

Day – 2 Results:

Unseeded Dev Patel causes major upset by beating Top Seed Maharshi Patel in the Junior Boys Quarter Finals at the ongoing Sports Club 1st Open Ahmedabad Ranking Table Tennis Tournament 2017 organized by Table Tennis Association of Ahmedabad. Dev bt. Maharshi in the thrilling seven game encounter, 4-3 (11-8, 5-11, 11-6, 11-3, 10-12, 8-11, 11-3). In the Sub Junior Girls Quarter Finals Seventh Seed Jiya Bhavsar defeated Second Seed Varenya Saini 3-1 (8-11, 11-3, 11-8, 11-6).

Top seed Jaanya Parikh claims Cadet Girls Title by easy win over Second Seed Prisha Shah 4-0 (11-3, 11-3, 11-9, 11-6).

Cadet Boys Final which is scheduled later in the evening will see Top Seed Anuj Joshi vs Second Seed Kaavya Panjabi. In the Semifinals Anuj Joshi bt. Dhruv Dusane 11-4, 11-6, 11-6. Whereas Kaavya Panjabi had a little tough going against Vivek Patel, Kaavya won 9-11, 12-10, 11-7, 11-7.
